Terms and definitions

Version dated October 22, 2026.

A shared glossary for GlobTravLink policies, rules and account pages. It explains how the platform records orders, payments, career progress and rewards. Specific prices, payment deadlines, service details and cancellation terms are set out in the order, agreement and the relevant supplier’s rules.

Creating an order, paying a deposit, the agency receiving commission and an agent withdrawing rewards are separate events. One does not confirm the others.

1. Participants

The GlobTravLink platform

The website and tools used to find travel services, arrange and record orders, communicate and calculate career metrics and rewards. GlobTravLink is the platform name. The legal entity, supplier and recipient of a specific payment are identified in the documents for that transaction.

Client and traveler

The client places or pays for an order. The traveler uses the travel service. The client, payer and traveler may be different people; their roles are recorded in the order.

Agent

A participant who helps a client select and arrange a service and manages the sale. A personal sale belongs to the participant identified as the seller in the order. Arranging a service or collecting payment does not by itself make the agent its supplier. “Agent” is also a career level; participants at higher career levels can continue to act as sellers.

Agency

An organization involved in selling and supporting travel services and settling payments with suppliers and agents under the applicable arrangements. It is distinct from an individual agent, their mentor and their team. For transactions involving Universe Travel & Business, the agency and its role are identified in the order documents.

Supplier

The person or organization providing the travel service, such as a cruise line, hotel, tour operator, carrier or guide. The supplier is identified by the selected service and booking documents. Who arranged the booking and who received payment are separate facts.

Aggregator

A system that brings together suppliers’ offers and provides search or booking tools. An aggregator and the actual supplier may be different parties. For example, Cruise Base is a booking aggregator, while the supplier of a cruise is the relevant cruise line. The aggregator’s name alone does not establish the payment recipient or commission source.

Mentor

An upline participant connected to an agent in the partner structure. A downline agent’s deals do not become the mentor’s personal sales. They may contribute only to the team or structure metrics specified by the mentor’s career rule.

Team and structure

For career metrics, a team includes downline Agents and Affiliates up to the first Employee in each branch. That Employee and their independent team are excluded from this team metric. The structure is the wider downline, including independent teams. Each promotion requirement specifies whether it counts personal sales, the team or the entire structure.

2. Orders, bookings and deals

Order

A record of a service or product being arranged for a client: what is purchased, who sells and provides it, its price and payments received. An order may be a draft, await confirmation or payment, be paid or be canceled. Creating a record alone does not confirm a sale or earn career credit.

Booking, or reservation

A service reserved with a supplier under specified terms. The booking reference and supplier confirmation connect the order to that service. A confirmed reservation alone does not prove payment; payment is recorded separately.

Deal

For the platform’s sales records, an order for which payment has actually been made and confirmed: either a deposit required by the order terms or the full amount. An unpaid request, price quote or planned deposit amount is not a paid deal. Cancellations and refunds remain in the history but may remove the deal from career qualification.

Each separate order counts once. Its deposit and later payments do not create additional deals. The number of travelers, service lines or payments within one order does not by itself increase the deal count. Eligibility for a particular qualification follows the career qualification rules.

Personal deal

A deal whose order identifies the qualifying agent as its seller. Knowing the client, taking part in messages or being the seller’s mentor does not replace the seller recorded in the order.

Confirmed payment

A successful payment recorded with its amount, currency, recipient and actual payment date. Depending on the order terms, payment may go to the platform, supplier or agent. An invoice, promise to pay, pending payment or failed payment does not confirm receipt of funds. If payment was already made but is missing from the records, it needs reconciliation, not a duplicate payment.

3. Price and payments

Total order price, or Gross

The total price to the client in the stated currency, including charges included in the agreed price. It is distinct from the deposit, commission and agent’s earnings. Where a career requirement explicitly uses Gross, it uses the full price of qualifying orders.

Amount due

The amount of a specific payment currently due to the stated recipient under an invoice or order terms. It may be a deposit, a remaining installment or the full price. It need not equal the entire trip price. The currency, payment purpose and amounts already paid must be taken into account.

Deposit

An advance payment toward the order price, as provided by the order terms. “Deposit set” means the amount has been specified; “deposit paid” means payment was actually made and confirmed. Career qualification requires a paid deposit. Refundability follows the relevant order and supplier terms; the word “deposit” does not itself promise a refund.

A deposit may equal the margin in a particular payment arrangement, but the two terms serve different purposes. Receiving a client’s deposit does not prove that the agency received commission from the supplier.

Full payment

Confirmed payment covering the total order price, taking earlier deposits, installments, refunds and disputed amounts into account. Paying a deposit invoice alone does not mean the entire trip is fully paid. The final payment does not create another deal for an order already counted.

Remaining balance

The part of the order price not yet covered by confirmed payments. For example, a USD 1,000 price minus a USD 200 paid deposit leaves USD 800 due. Where different parties receive payments, each payment’s purpose and amount must be specified separately.

Cancellation, refund and payment dispute

Cancellation ends fulfillment of an order under the relevant service terms. A refund returns previously paid funds. A dispute challenges a payment, including through a bank. These are separate events. Canceled orders and refunded or disputed payments do not establish deposit eligibility; the paid amount and career result must be recalculated under the applicable rules.

4. Commission, margin and rewards

Supplier commission

Compensation offered by the supplier for selling its service under agreed terms. The expected amount and its actual transfer to the agency are recorded separately. A client paying for the trip does not mean the supplier has already transferred this commission.

Intermediary fee or deduction

A separate charge required by an aggregator’s or another party’s terms. A fee deducted from supplier commission reduces the amount retained by the agency. The amount follows the terms of the specific transaction.

Margin

The income amount from an order used as the basis for distributing rewards under the marketing plan. For an external sale through an aggregator, it is supplier commission less agreed fees and deductions. Other payment arrangements use the basis specified by the order terms. The total trip price and the client’s deposit are not, by themselves, margin.

“Total company margin” includes the portion used to calculate agents’ rewards. “Agents’ earnings” are part of that margin, not an additional amount on top. Margin does not mean the organization’s net profit after all expenses and taxes.

Expected and received margin

Expected margin is an estimated amount that may change and whose receipt has not yet been confirmed. Received margin is money whose actual receipt by the agency has been checked and recorded. Confirming a calculation, a supplier’s promise and confirming receipt of funds are separate events.

Agent reward

The amount calculated for a particular recipient from the margin using the applicable percentage and marketing plan rules. Orders use the recipient’s terms at the order’s creation date; a later promotion does not increase an older order’s percentage. Expected rewards are distinct from money available for withdrawal.

Illustrative example: supplier commission of USD 120 less an agreed USD 20 fee gives USD 100 margin. At an applicable agent percentage of 30%, the agent’s reward is USD 30. These figures illustrate the calculation and are not an established rate.

Balance credit

Crediting a calculated reward to its recipient’s balance after the required checks and confirmation that the agency received commission. It is separate from an estimated reward and from a later withdrawal.

Payout, or withdrawal

Transferring a requested amount from a participant’s available balance. A payout reduces the overall balance and is not allocated to individual orders. A withdrawal therefore does not establish that a specific order’s reward has been paid out.

5. Career qualification and Agent → Employee promotion

Career status

A participant’s level in the marketing plan, such as Agent, Employee or Manager. It determines the opportunities and reward terms provided by that plan. “Employee” on this page refers specifically to the platform’s career level.

Membership and status purchase

Membership is a recurring participation payment under the selected level’s terms. A status purchase is a separate way to obtain a career level where the plan allows it. It is not a travel booking. Promotion through meeting sales requirements is another distinct basis for moving to a new level.

Qualifying deal

A deal meeting the particular transition’s requirements: the correct seller or team, qualifying payment and the relevant calculation period. The total number of orders in an account can therefore differ from the number of qualifying deals.

For Agent → Employee, the requirement is met when the agent has five personal travel deals with a paid deposit or full payment within one calendar month. The qualifying date must be after the current qualification began. There is no need to wait for the agency to receive commission, for the trip to finish or for full payment after a qualifying deposit. Fully paid partner status purchases also participate in the current career calculation.

  1. The qualifying agent is recorded as the seller in the order.
  2. Payment was actually made and confirmed in the records; entering a deposit amount alone is insufficient.
  3. The first confirmed payment belongs to the required month and was made after the current qualification began.
  4. The order is not canceled; deposit qualification requires no refund or dispute on the recorded payments.
  5. Each order counts once. Additional payments and deals from the previous qualification do not count again.

Examples: four eligible paid deals and one unpaid order produce four qualifying deals. Five eligible orders with deposits, full payments or a combination produce five. Five payments for one booking produce one deal. Five deals spread across different months do not meet a one-calendar-month requirement.

Other transitions have their own thresholds and rules: travel orders count after full payment, while a confirmed cruise booking may count with a deposit. Personal, team and structure metrics are not interchangeable.

Promotion is based on checking orders and payments against the active rule in the Career section. The number of records created or a verbal sales report does not replace that check. Discrepancies are reviewed against the specific order, seller, payment and qualifying date. Current thresholds and calculation results appear in the account.
