Two imperial castles. One of the other is prettier!

Karlstein - the castle of the Holy Roman Emperor, and at the same time the Czech king (on the floor) - Charles 4. He served as the "safe" of the Empire, where the ruler's regalia were reliably stored - a scepter, a crown and so, in detail, all sorts of jewelry.

The castle is located on a rock, difficult to access and heavy for enemies of a great power. The treasures were guarded by His Majesty’s soldiers, but now there are groups of tourists who take pictures of the beauty with blissful smiles.

So we, like them, will also visit the “holy place”, climb the hill, the castle, admire the regalia, admire the views of the Czech Republic from the height of Karlstein, and continue to the next castle of the next emperor (ALmost the emperor) – Konopište.

Franz Ferdinand, who lives in the castle with his wife and children, was the heir to the imperial throne, it is a fact. But he never became emperor, for the simple reason that he was shot a little in Sarajevo. As a result of which the First World War began, so colorfully described in the "Schveyk". Franz Ferdinand was diligently engaged in hunting in the Konopišt forests, as evidenced by the huge number of hunting trophies hung in the rooms of the castle.The emperor killed 280,000 animals in total! That's what a hunter means.
