About this offer

What to expect

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the largest art museums in the world and the second most visited in the world (after the Louvre). To visit New York and not visit this magnificent museum is the same as to visit St. Petersburg and neglect the Hermitage or fly to Paris and leave the Louvre unattended. I believe that after a sightseeing tour of the city, the next part of your program should be a tour of the Metropolitan!

Meta has everything from Egyptian and Assyrian antiquities, to medieval armor and weapons, from interiors and household items to jewelry and Tiffany lamps, from musical instruments (one of which is made of... man) to costumes and carpets. And of course, the richest collection of sculpture and painting of all times, peoples, trends and schools.

It is impossible to see all the exhibits of the museum in one day, but you can and should get a general idea of the Metropolitan Collection, and walk through the main masterpieces of the museum in 3 hours.

The cost of your tickets to the museum is not included in the price of the tour ($25 adult and $16 child ticket), but I buy these tickets for you in advance before the tour, so as not to stand in line for them. After the tour, you can take advantage of my 10% discount from the Met Museum Support Society when buying interesting things and books in the museum’s gift shop.

I usually try to start the tour of the Metropolitan in the afternoon, about 14:00 – 14:30, but it is possible in the morning, half an hour after the opening of the museum, at 10:30. You can get to the museum by taxi or metro (station 86th street of the green line 4, 5 and 6 routes). The museum's main entrance is 82nd Street on 5th Avenue (82nd and 5th, the Met). The collection is near the statue of the Pharaoh to the right of the entrance.
