What to expect
A 45-minute drive from Santa Marta is one of the most beautiful reserves in Colombia - the Tayrone National Park with charming beaches, an amazing world of tropical forests and transparent rivers flowing into the Caribbean Sea. The status of the protected reserve Tyrone was acquired in 1969. Today, its territory is about 12 thousand hectares of jungle, magnificent sandy beaches with coves and, of course, coral reefs.
Almost everything in the national park Tyrone preserved untouched by human activity, and that is why this reserve attracts tourists who prefer to rest savage. If we talk about the fauna of the national park, then more than 100 species of animals or about 300 species of birds live here.
