An amazing journey to the lowest, driest, hottest and most mysterious place on the continent - Death Valley.

Here at the bottom of the dried up millennium ago, the lakes themselves move stones, there are mysterious abandoned cities and the harsh nature of the desert lives its life.

Death Valley is a small part of the Mojave Desert in California, just two hundred kilometers west of Las Vegas. It is surrounded on all sides by high mountain ranges that do not allow rain clouds here and form a unique climate of the valley. The lowest point of the valley - Badwater - is located 86 meters below sea level. It receives less than 50 millimeters of rain a year, and sometimes it doesn’t rain for years. And in the same place was recorded the highest temperature: in the summer of 1913, the thermometer rose to +57 ° C! In winter, the temperature can drop below zero. But in spring, literally for a few weeks, the whole valley is transformed and covered with a sea of flowers. And sometimes rains that broke through mountain ranges flood the valley and create short-lived, but unusual picturesque lakes.

The rest of the year in the valley there is practically no vegetation and extremely poor animal world.Nevertheless, representatives of the Shoshone and Timbisha Indian tribes still live here. Once there were tried to mine gold (by the way, it is the gold miners that the valley owes its "deadly" name) and, of course, such an unusual place could not but be captured in the cinema. Zabriski Point, Dante Peak, Last Chance, all of this, like the lifeless landscapes of Star Wars, was filmed here.

Death Valley has its own mysterious mysteries. For example, the moving stones of Raistrek Playa. Cobbles weighing up to forty kilograms, moving every year for several tens of meters on the bottom of the dried up lake in different directions.
