About this offer

What to expect

Letchworth Park is a very beautiful and memorable place in an hour and a half drive from the city of Buffalo. It is a system of natural parks, observation platforms, recreational places, hiking and cycling trails located in the picturesque canyon of the Genesi River.

The gorge is so large and deep that it became known as the Grand Canyon of the East (as opposed to the Grand Canyon of the West on the Colorado River). Unlike him, the gorge is surrounded by forests, numerous streams flow from the surrounding hills. Local conditions are favorable for the habitat of many species of animals and birds, of which the most common are deer and eagle. To observe the flights of eagles hovering over the gorge almost at the level of the observer’s eyes, several observation platforms are adapted, hanging over the abyss.

There are three waterfalls, which are smaller than their Niagara counterparts, but are still large enough to be remembered forever. They are arranged in cascades one after another, which enhances the overall impression. Right behind them you can watch (and get closer) the old railway bridge, thrown from one side of the canyon to the other, at the sight of which you remember adventure films. The building (when viewed from below) is, frankly, a bit creepy and doesn't look reliable. A valuable photographic object.

Near the Middle Falls (the other two are called respectively Lower and Upper) is the hotel Glen Iris Inn, the furnishings and standards of service which have not changed since the last century. We can safely say that time has stopped there. It is interesting to look inside and take a look at the cozy, rustic past. There is also a souvenir shop and a restaurant where you can have lunch.

The park is equipped with a large number of barbecues and places for relaxing in the fresh air. You can prepare a barbecue or arrange a barbecue from the products you have taken with you.

The tour involves a car detour with a stop at the most interesting observation points and a base stop for walking along a chosen path, lunch in a restaurant or a picnic. The road from Buffalo to the park and back passes through the pastoral landscape areas of Farmer America. The excursion program can be made corrections or additions at the request of tourists.
