Day 1 Mexico City Airport Meeting (MEX)

Transfer and accommodation at 4* hotel ("Casa Blanca" or similar). Free evening for rest.

Day 2. Mexico City – Teotihuacan – Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Our acquaintance with Mexico will begin with a sightseeing tour of the historical center of one of the largest and most diverse capitals of the world - the city of Mexico, where around the central square of Socalo are located monuments of history and architecture associated with the most important stages of the city's development. Here we will explore the ruins of the ancient Aztec city of Tenochtitlan and the foundation of their main temple, Metropolitan Cathedral, the Presidential Palace with frescoes by Diego Rivera (on some days, the entrance to the Palace is closed or limited, including due to force majeure circumstances such as national holidays, rallies held in Sokalo Square, etc.) and many other world-famous attractions. After exploring Sokalo, we will go to the archaeological zone of Teotihuacan - a cult center of ancient Indians, striking the grandeur of such buildings as the pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the road of the dead, the temple of Quetzalcoatl and the palace of Quetzalpapalotl.Then we will visit the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadeloupe - the greatest shrine of all Latin America, located on the place where, according to legend, in the middle of the sixteenth century, the Virgin Mary appeared to the Indian Juan Diego in the form of an Indian princess. This large religious complex includes many temples and amazing gardens with fountains. Pilgrims from all over the world come here to worship the image of the “smoky” Virgin Mary. Tonight, back to the hotel.

Day 3. Mexico City - Puebla - Veracruz. In the morning we will leave the bustling and bustling Mexico City and through the pass, from where in good weather you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Popocatepetl and Istaxihuatl volcanoes, go to the beautiful colonial city of Puebla (City of Angels), famous for its historical and architectural monuments (City Cathedral – the second largest in Mexico, the Rosario Chapel, the monastery of Santo Domingo), museums, ceramics, the legendary chocolate sauce “mole” and stunning cuisine. Here we will explore the historical center of the city, which is under the protection of UNESCO, see many unique buildings of the colonial era with a characteristic of Puebla cladding of red brick and finishing of handmade tiles.Next, we will go to the port city of Veracruz, located on the Gulf of Mexico, where we will take a walk through the historic center of the city. Accommodation at Hotel 4* ("Diligencias" or similar)

Day 4: Veracruz - Villahermosa / La Venta Park Museum - Palenque.

After breakfast we will go to the capital of Tabasco in Villahermosa, which was founded at the end of the XVI century by a community forced to move inland due to pirate attacks. There we will visit a unique open-air park-museum - "LaVenta", where monuments of the Olmecs - the oldest and most mysterious civilization of America (including giant stone heads) are collected from the impenetrable forests of the states of Tabasco and Chiapas. Further on the program - moving to Chiapas state, in the city of Palenque. Accommodation at 4* Hotel (Ciudad Real Palenque or similar)

Day 5. Palenque - Jashchilan (165 km) - Misol Ha - Palenque Falls (210 km).

Early in the morning we will go to the sacred Indian city and the archaeological center of Yaschilan, which means “green stones”, located on the border of Mexico and Guatemala, on the banks of the Usumacinta River.It is the only truly "lost" city in the jungles of Chiapas, whose history dates back more than two thousand years. Yashchilan is one of the most interesting Mayan settlements. Especially impressive are the steles on which the local rulers were depicted, and the hieroglyphs described their deeds and important events of the era. Nobody is left indifferent by the most beautiful relief images of battle and ritual scenes, hieroglyphic staircase, murals in the Temple of frescoes and, of course, the statue of the ruler sitting on the throne in a niche on the crest of the roof of the temple, which majestically rises above the dense jungle. After visiting Yaschilan, we will travel back to Palenque and see how quickly the surrounding nature can change in Mexico: from coniferous forests to a mesmerizing subtropical jungle. On the way we will make a stop in the jungle and swim in one of the most picturesque waterfalls, which are famous for the surroundings of Palenque. Tonight, back to the hotel.

Day 6. Palenque - Gulf of Mexico - Campeche.

In the morning we will take a tour of the archaeological area of Palenque, protected by UNESCO, and explore the remains of the beautiful city located on the picturesque hills of the heyday of Mayan culture.Here are preserved buildings that are monuments of ancient art: tombs, the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of inscriptions with the tomb of the great King Pacal, the Palace and other structures that, surrounded by lush subtropical vegetation, look especially majestic and mysterious. After that, leaving behind the mountains of Chiapasa, we will go to the Yucatan Peninsula in the city of Campeche. On the way, we can admire the stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico, swim, and also have lunch in the coastal restaurant. The program for the evening includes a walk through the picturesque colonial streets of Campeche and a tour of the ancient fortresses built to protect the city from pirates. They, by the way, served as scenery on the set of many historical films and TV series. Accommodation in a 4* hotel ("Plaza Campeche" or similar).

Day 7. Campeche - Uxmal - Merida.

In the morning, leaving Campeche, we will go to Uxmal – a Mayan settlement of the late Classic period and one of the most complex and harmonious examples of Puuk architecture, which still continues to amaze visitors with its beauty and originality.After exploring this archaeological complex, we will continue to Merida, a city founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco de Montejo in 1542 on the ruins of a large Mayan settlement and turned into the largest city of the Yucatan Peninsula. We will have a guided tour here. Of particular interest to tourists are the Independence Square and the monumental Paseo del Montejo Avenue, where luxury residences in the European style, built in the late XIX – early XX centuries, are located.

Accommodation in a 4* hotel ("El Español" or similar). In the evening - free time for walking, visiting shops and relaxing.

Day 8. Merida - Chichen Itza - Cenote Ik-Kil - Cancun / Riviera Maya.

In the morning we will leave Merida and head to Chichen Itza, the most important ceremonial center of Toltec culture, which is among the New Wonders of the World. Here are the famous pyramid of Kukulkan, the Observatory, the Sacred Cenote (a natural well that served the Indians for ceremonies dedicated to the rain god Chaak) and the largest ball playground in Mesoamerica.We will begin our acquaintance with this world-famous archaeological area in the unique Mayaland complex, where in a 3D cinema, built in the style of the ancient Chichen Itza Observatory, we will be told about the cosmology of the ancient Maya in a fascinating form (using modern video technologies). Further on the program we will swim in the crystal clear waters of Ik-Kil – the most beautiful cenote of the Yucatan Peninsula, and then the final part of the route – moving to the state of Quintana Roo – to Cancun or the Maya Riviera – and accommodation in booked hotels.
