What to expect
Uncharted paradise, that’s what Americans call San Diego and consider it the best city in the United States, dreaming of spending at least old age in it! I have lived in it for 2 years and I understand why it attracts people from all over the world. As someone who knows all the most interesting places in this city, let me discover this Pacific pearl of America!
The tour from Los Angeles to San Diego includes a visit to:
La Jolla
The coastal area of La Jolla is a real reserve in the heart of civilization. We will see seals, soaking in the sun right on the beach, and pelicans soaring in the sky. We will drive along the main street “Prospect”, which is often called “local Rodeo Drive” because of its expensive boutiques, art galleries, luxury hotels and fashionable restaurants. After that, we will climb to the highest point of the city - Mount Soledad. This is the best place to admire the picturesque cityscapes. From the hill offers a stunning panoramic view. Also of interest is the memorial to San Diego veterans. The walls, which envelop the nine-meter white cross, are covered with plaques commemorating soldiers who served in the army during military conflicts.
Coronado Peninsula
Our next stop is the charming Coronado Peninsula. Here is the famous hotel "Del Coronado", where in 1959 was filmed the film "Only girls in jazz", and the hotel was built in 1888. This place is famous for ancient mansions, yachts, comfortable hotels and a chic beach with snow-white sand.
downtown
The historic center is a gas-light district famous for its theaters, nightclubs, music halls and a huge number of restaurants located in restored Victorian buildings. The stunning promenade, a huge statue of a seaman and a nurse who merged in a kiss called “Unconditional Surrender”, as well as a maritime museum that includes such famous ships as the sailboat “Star of India”, the Soviet submarine B-39 and the aircraft carrier Midway, will not leave you indifferent!
Balboa Park
Our tour from Los Angeles to San Diego is sure to pass through Balboa Park – it is the soul and heart of the city! The park is similar to an ancient Spanish city, was built specifically for the exhibition Panama-California (1915-16), dedicated to the completion of the Panama Canal. Since then, the park has become a favorite place for residents and guests of the city. We will definitely walk along its shady alleys, enjoy the stunning architecture and look into the most secluded corners!
