A sightseeing tour of Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City is a think tank and the main base of the Mormon community. Accordingly, the most famous city landmarks are somehow connected with their church and are concentrated near the Temple Square. No outsiders are allowed inside religious buildings. Tourists are interested in the huge white main temple; the monument to the spiritual leader Yang and his former residence; the prayer house. Recently, Olympic facilities were added to the number of decorations of the city.

During the tour we definitely visit:

The park at the site of the founding of the city "This is the place!"

  • Ancient district, Cathedral of Mary Magdalene
  • The city hall in Romanescu style.

The Central Library is the best library in the United States.

Day 2.Salt Lake City – Great Salt Lake – Antelope Island

Continuation of the tour in Salt Lake City

Great Salt Lake.

Drive along the Dam to Antelope Island

In addition to a city tour, we have a trip to the Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island along an artificial dam. There are really antelopes on the island, in season they can be seen. Salt air is considered to be healing. We are moving to Jackson in Teton County. It is quite small and interesting primarily as a convenient base for starting in national parks or ski resorts. However, there is something to see here - the owners of drinking establishments diligently design them in the style of saloons from films about the Wild West. The entrance to the city park is covered by an arch of three human heights, assembled from many deer horns.

Moving to Jackson (Saloons of the Wild West, Gate of the Deer Horns)

Jackson is a typical town of the Wild West.

Saloons with live country music,

  • Cowboy clothing stores
  • Gallery of painting and sculpture
  • Cook with a cowboy musical.

Day 3: Grand Teton and Yellowstone

Funicular (climb to the top of the mountain “Randevu – for an additional fee – payment on the spot”).Grand Teton Park. (Teton Glaciers, Jenny Lake, Jackson Lake, Dabma, Rockefeller Alley) Yellowstone (Kepler Cascades, Old Handmaid Geyser, Upper Geysers Pool, Middle Pool and Lower Pool).

Near Jackson there is a mountain with a promising name Rendezvous. To the top stretches a thread of the funicular, which many experienced tourists call one of the most Western in memory. So we'll start the day with moderate extras, buy tickets and take 15 minutes to ride in the trailer. Behind the windows of the circular view will swim the Snake River plateau and mountain peaks in the feather of clouds. The nearest peaks are Grand Teton and Yellowstone, our next targets. Long ago, the prehistoric ocean was roaring here, so the glaciers of Titon and its lakes have a chance to find a fossilized seashell. Under Yellowstone, as you know, lives a volcano. We are waiting for numerous geysers, including the Old servant, who is fifteen-story tall. And also the Kepler cascades, where several waterfalls on the Firehole River go in a row.

Day 4. Yellowstone.

Yellowstone - a stop at the park along the Madison River, wild deer and bison pastures, Firehol Falls and Gibbon River Falls, Monument Geyser Pool, Norris Geyser Pool, Porcelain Pool and the Growling Mountains. Possibility to swim in hot springs Mammoth Terraces: travertine layers. Upper terraces - natural travertine sculptures Lower terraces - layers of snow-white travertine. The Yellowstone River Fossil Tree. Grand Canyon. Lower waterfall.

Firehole merges with Gibbon, and then they flow together under the name Madison. In addition to yesterday’s cascades, Firehall boasts individual waterfalls, which we will see today. In the depths of Yellowstone we will climb along Madison, and in the coastal lands here bison and deer are vengeanced. We will see the waterfalls of Gibbon and new geysers, streams, warm springs. You can swim in the springs. We mentioned in passing the prehistoric ocean, and the next gift of those times are the Mammoth Terraces. There is travertine everywhere, similar to fragile and porous limestone from yellowish to blinding white shades. In our list of ancient relics remains the trunk of a tree fossilized 50 million years ago, the only one in the entire park. We will pay a lot of attention to the picturesque canyon, which was cut through the largest local river Yellowstone.

Day 5. yellowstone

Yellowstone. (Virginia Cascades, Yellowstone River, North Cauldron, mud volcanoes, Yellowstone Lake – an opportunity to swim in icy but crystal clear water) West Tomb Geyser Pool

We'll have a day of geological discovery. Did you know, for example, that volcanoes can spew not only ash and lava, but also hot mud? Make sure you see it. Let’s pay tribute to the Yellowstone River and even reach the lake of the same name, where bathers can complement their experience yesterday. This time the water will be ice-cold, but clean as in a spring. If we hurry, we will have time to see the cascade of Virginia - 20 meters of the stream bubbling on the stones, which is closely surrounded by mast pine trees. And the thermal spring Big Finger (aka West Tamb), which goes legend that its turquoise depths are like a window directly to the center of the Earth.

Day 6. Idaho Falls - safari

Zoo – safari (tickets are purchased by tourists on the spot): bears, deer, moose and bison walk between cars. In small enclosures, you can squeeze the cubs, and for a small surcharge - feed the cubs from the nipple. Tour of the city of Idaho Falls and the surrounding area. Moving to Salt Lake City.
